During the CES 2020, AMD has announced the first chip in the family, Ryzen 4000. Our family has just been growing: by this week, the company unveiled the processors that are Ryzen 9 4900H , and Ryzen 9 4900HS, both the architecture and the Zen 2. They come with a mission: to make AMD to grow up in a notebook.

The company has been doing a remarkable job in the segment of pcs and servers, but are in the market for a laptop computer, a rival to Intel is still leading with a big gap. With a series of Ryzen 4000, AMD’s attempt to grab a bigger share of that market.
To this end, it is important to make the processors for all types of notebooks, including models of the high-performance (used in games, for example): this is where the chips Ryzen 9 4900H, and Ryzen 9 4900HS should show.
Both of these processors are equipped with technology to 7 nanometers and to bring the eight-core, combined with 16 threads. The differences are in frequency, and, particularly, in the PROCESS.
To account for the TDP of 35 W, it is clear that the Ryzen 9 4900HS is a good option for anyone looking for performance and at the same time as much battery life as possible. Already Ryzen 9 4900H is the choice for those who gives priority to maximum performance.

Please note that, as well as the rest of the processors have the GPU built right in. We’re talking about the units graphics with 8-core Vega and a 7-nanometer process for the chips. With it, AMD notes that it is possible to increase the frequency in the graphic processing, without affecting drastically the energy consumption, for example.
As is the case of the other chips Ryzen 4000 models Ryzen 9 4900H, and Ryzen 9 4900HS can enhance the performance or image-processing technology, the AMD SmartShiftis capable of providing more power to the GPU when there is a high demand for graphics, or do the same thing with respect to CPU usage in the task that requires a lot of computing power.
As always, all of the independent testing that will tell you if the new processors do what they promise, but on AMD it appears that the new developments bring about higher performance in comparison with that of the previous generation, and with the equivalent models from rival Intel.
The first notebooks based on the new chip are expected to be in the second half of the 2020s, but this is the current scenario of the spread of the new coronavirus does not damage the rolls.
