The Final Fantasy VII original (1997) and is regarded as one of the game’s most dominant all-time great, despite the fact that he is not the favorite of all fans of the franchise from Square Enix. Given the fame of the title, the hype for this remake couldn’t be easier, and the wait was worth it: with a few new additions, but all the while maintaining the essence of what captivated the game, 23-year-old Final Fantasy VII Remake this is a gift for those of you who know him, and also for the newcomers in the city of Midgar.

- The Games – A Review
FFVII Remake is exclusive to the PS4 (at least for the time being), and, unfortunately, it does not bring any voice acting in PT-BR. To get the subtitles in Portuguese, you will need to change the language on the console and on the web.
This review won’t have spoilers! 😉
Midgar: the progress and chaos
This is the first part of the FFVII Remake (yes, it’s because the story doesn’t end when the game “ends”) in the capital of Midgar. This site is also based on the Fact that a huge and powerful company in energy use in the World, substance, the etheric is responsible for life on our planet in the game (Gaia), in order to feed its reactors.
The problem is that, according to the revolutionary group Avalanche, is the Fact that it extracts the essence of the way that greedy and upset him, which could potentially lead the world to the brink of extinction. And this is where you begin the game in control of a mercenary (ex-Soldier) with Cloud Strife. He was first employed, as we have seen in the demo version of the game to help the team in the Avalanche (led by Barret Wallace) to blow up the reactor in Sector 5.
The interesting thing about Midgar it is also important to note, of course, about the split, and the difference between the social classes. Do you have the high city, where the most powerful and key employees of the Fact that they reside in and the called the lower town, which the game calls “Slums”. Putting it more simply, the slum itself.
Well, I think that if you’re a fan, you already should be familiar with this story, and for those who are new to Final Fantasy, it’s always good to leave a little mystery. However, I would like to point out this, the story is all in the care of the developers delve into the backgrounds of some of the characters in relation to the game of the original.
Learn more about the past than any of them, even if for a season, or wandering with Him (in the case of the Cloud, with the help of which the player has to build more sympathy for them, and to understand some of the behaviour of the eccentric or introverted.
The bonds of friendship and even some flirting, they are much more sensitive, and, at times, you are going to let out a little smile at some of the scenes of the most romantic (or as close to it as possible), laugh at a few moments of relaxation or with the girls, taking out a wave with the face in the Cloud, and it knows how to react).
If you get emotional… It’s basically what the game encourages you with a story.
PS: someone needs to create a fan club for the Wedge, and your kitties!
Gameplay: a good hybrid of action and tactical
Some of the veteran players were afraid of, in relation to the changes in the gameplay to turn-based (title, 1997), for involving more of the action in this story. At the end of the day, what we did was a hybrid between the two worlds, which has worked out well, in the new aesthetics of the game.
The battles they have won more fluidly, without losing sight of the tactical part of choosing the best time to switch from human-controlled character or choose from some of the magic, for example).
It should be noted that, even if it has the action, the FFVII Remake is not a “crush” button, as it’s a Devil May Cry of life. Do this until you can resolve in the face of the enemies are weak, but the hammer only in the square, in any other case it can make quite a mess on your hand.
To gain access to the tactical part of combat, it will put the whole scene in slow motion, the one that will give you a brief moment to analyze what is the best magic to use, blow up, or even to choose who to heal, among other options.
There are some settings in the control to trade the most dynamic, and the special combo moves that you unlock as you reach proficiency in the use of arms (which aren’t many). In a nutshell, the “secret” in order to be more effective in the battle is to find out the weak point of the game.
If you have any issue (orbs, which unlock different skills equipped that give you the ability to see the weaknesses of your enemy, you can use it to help you choose the best form of attack on the situations of the predicament. I will speak more on the matter, and the benefits of it to improve on that.
You hit a critical, you can put your opponent in the way, “staggered” (something like “in a daze” or “to stagger”), that is, that it will be unable to attack for a few seconds, and left wide open to devastating blows from his staff. This is your time to shine, and to give you as much damage as possible, without running the risk of a counter-attack.
It is important for you to know, however, that you will not be able to use magic, special moves, or even items at any time, and any time you want (in combat mode). It is necessary to cause damage in order to have the ability to heal itself. Basic attacks help you load up the ASW, which allows you to use skills unique to the weapon of their time, in addition to the spells and items.
It may seem complicated at first, but it’s something that you’ll be able to have a good control of the course of the campaign. I have but one obstacle, in this new system of combat was the camera. Even, this is one of the low points of the entire game, in my opinion.
It is possible to set the cross hairs on an enemy, and so far so great, because you’ll be able to follow it more easily. However, if your opponent’s resolve, all of a sudden, they disappear from the field-of-view to prepare for a special attack, you just might find the camera to be lost, pointing to the wall, the floor, and, at least for the bug.
For this reason, I chose to play the game without fixing the camera, most of the time, and it is only used when there was only one opponent, the great and the parts of the body and breakable.
Your party is your family-take good care of it!
Your party is going to vary throughout the game, and in combinations of usually two or three of the characters: Cloud Strife, Barret Wallace, Tifa Lockhart, and Aerith Gainsborough. There are times when you are going to play solo as well. The most interesting thing is that it is not always a Cloud, it will be the main thing to keep it under control. This is all the more reason to have all four of these are well-prepared.
In the pause menu, you’ll be able to equip accessories and weapons, each and every one of them. There are more options available than guns, but given all the possibilities for upgrades, you don’t even feel that much is missing.
To wake up all the special abilities of each weapon, you will need to complete the pre-requisites of it. They usually involve a certain amount of times you need to do a certain combo, and the list goes on. Each weapon has its own skill tree.
As you level up, your character accumulates Skill Points (SP) in order to invest in upgrades to the gun. They are reflected in the character sheet as well. For example, when you unlock the +100 HP from the sword automatically, this number has increased to account for the Cloud – which is the only one of the four player who uses the piece of equipment.
In relation to the distribution of points according to their fighting style. There is no one right way to do it. You will eventually be guided more by the nature of each one. The Cloud is one more striker, retained his money, is a long distance away, a Smile is a face-to-face, and final fantasy has a profile of a healer. It’s nice to have the roles are versatile to better plan your strategy.
In addition to the upgrades, it is important that you collect and add on meaningful (this is not the orbs, which I have before), weapons, and accessories. You can find the materials scattered around the room or buy some of the merchants in particular.
With it, you can unlock several types of spells for the characters that have them equipped, such as: destructive magic, heal, armor, boosts to HP and MP, and so on. The more you use it, a field kitchen is, the more it evolves, and depending on the rare – to unlock a more powerful effect.
When you go to the campaign, you will have access to the materials for the summon creatures, allies of interactivity. When you are faced with a battle, more difficult to gauge, the summon will begin to populate on the screen. When this is complete, you will be able to call a creature to help you for a longer period of time. Before you go there, the ally will perform a final attack, film, and history.
Holding limited, and the sidequests boring (at the most)
Final Fantasy VII, the Story is divided into chapters, and it’s not a game in the open world, even the world map is simple. A few places to explore” you’ll get in the middle of a path, a mission, and if you can call it the secret, in and of itself.
You will feel every moment of the game by pulling back to the script circuit with a few non-player characters to yell something like “why are you doing that for?”. And to not even try to disobey.
Yet you try to exploit any thing, and, once again, the angle of the camera, giving a show of irritation. Sometimes, it’s just you, secure his head,” and you look at where it wants to and is ready to go.
For a few years now, and I wanted to enjoy a beautiful garden all around me (to make sure one print is cool, but the camera simply does not allow me to revolve my character is in the shaft, forcing me to keep moving forward. Why is this so? Let Me see martin, in this world.
Sidequests, puzzles and minigames
I don’t have complaints about the conduct of the missions in the main, thankfully. All of which are conducted within the context of each chapter, then merge the sequences, more action, distress, and urgency, with moments of respite and even more contemplative. There aren’t many puzzles and, in particular, I don’t have any complexity to deal with them.
My problem is with some of the sidequests which mostly consume your time and the boot time on it). The fundamentals of the game, you gain more reputation with the local community, in exchange for some of the awards that are not there, just as essential as well.
Apart from an optional mission of these, or other, such as helping an NPC to gain a new weapon, or in research to develop new materials, and the other is not. they add almost nothing to the narrative, such as: find out the cat is a girl, kill a rat, call in the kids for back to school and things like that.
Things are getting more interesting in relation to extra activities, to arrive at the Wall Market, in the center of Sector 6. This is an area purely dedicated to the enjoyment (and a little illegal), where there is an arena, well, quirky (then you will understand why a) you will participate in as part of the main story, but you may be able to come back again.
There are a few mini-games and quick time events in this region as well, but they are more for you to enjoy, apart from the Cloud of their “comfort zone”, than anything else.
The soundtrack, a phenomenal visual and the fair
The soundtrack, which entails that this game is amazing, fantastic, or for any other accolade you want to enter. It was the time that the other game is not for me cativavam so much to keep track of my own feelings in each scene. I’ve had bouts of anxiety in sequence to escape, it almost went into a state of meditation, in moments of quiet, and I have seen the inside of a battle, with all the tones are epic.
The music of Final Fantasy VII, the Story and emotion just as much as the story and its characters. If the game doesn’t win any awards, at least in this category, it is the end of the world is the same!
Visually, the FFVII Remake is a good job for us, especially when you consider that it has been redesigned from the scratch, from the original. There’s nothing terribly memorable, but it has done a good job. I noticed a few drops of the frame, in moments of action, and, especially, the problems with the textures of some objects. I saw a few doors, and vehicles in the slum areas, which appeared to have been painted on with crayons.
I have to admit that, for someone who’s never really been a fan of the franchise, Final Fantasy, and I had a great time with FFVII, the Story is more that they would have ever imagined in your life. Apart from the majority of the sidequests, time-consuming, and the camera’s commands, this is a game that’s memorable (although it is still incomplete, and with characters really captivating. At times, I felt like I was holding them up, and tell you that you need to be strong, in spite of all the odds.
At the end of the game for the first time, you will have the opportunity to revisit one of the previous chapters, and to finish what I need to do (such as finding all the kittens, the baby in my arms). There are many cut scenes, also the most by doing such a great job at the start and the end of the chapter, as well as show you all of the changes of the heads of the most powerful.
The story may be a bit confusing for the novice, but anything that will compromise the experience. Things are going to explain to the few and with the passage of time. Even you can’t be in a hurry to finish it, because it almost all takes place slowly, and the events that are displayed incrementally. It is a story more of a slow, but still interesting.
In the end, a Final Fantasy VII Remake is a game that deserves to be played and enjoyed within the time frame of each other. I am now very curious to find out how the developers are going to show you what is yet to come!
- The characters are very engaging
- Narrative grips you from the beginning to the end
- Fighting style hybrid of action and tactical)
- The Cloud of a dress with the face of the landscape
- The majority of the sidequets is a sleep aid time-consuming
- Camera a dictator who will not let you exploit the right
