Hey, I’m Simon and I’m here at AirBeamTV to get you started mirroring your iPhone to your AmazonFire TV.
So let’s get into it.
First things first, we need to install the AirBeamTV app to our iPhone, so let’s do that now.
But before we do so, say “hello” to everyone’s favorite member of the team – it’s Phonecam! So, let’s head to the App Store.
And if we search for ‘AirBeamTV’ we will see all the apps listed here.
We want ‘Mirror for Amazon Fire TV’.
It’s the orange one.
So, once the app is downloaded we want to open it for the first time.
But not before we make sure that our iPhone and our Amazon Fire TV are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Yes, they are.
So let’s go ahead and open the AirBeamTV app on our iPhone for the first time.
Great! And there we go.
Because we’re onthe same Wi-Fi network straight away it sees Allen’s Fire TV at the top.
It’s worth noting that we are using the 4k Ultra Fire TV.
You might just be using the Stick one but, you know, they like to show off here.
So in order to mirror ourphone to our TV we need to install a receiver app to our Fire Stick.
Luckily, the app will talk us through this.
So, if we just head back to the homescreen on our Fire Stick and then we tap the name of our TV in the app, it willsay “Install / Open AirBeamTV Mirroring Receiver App”.
And over here it will askus to download it.
So, I will say “Yes, please” and it’ll pop it in our queue ofone and immediately download it.
And there it is – installed.
So let’s click’Open’ on there to open the receiver app on our Fire TV.
Now that it’s open, we can go back to the phone and we will notice that theicon displayed next to the name of our Fire TV has changed from the Fire TVlogo to a little TV, which means the receiver app is installed and we areready to start mirroring.
All we need to do is tap the name of our TV, it will say “Connecting to your TV”.
I’ll take a second a little widdly whirly wheel.
That’sright, a widdly whirly wheel.
And now it says ‘TV found and connected’.
So we click ‘Next step’, ‘Turn on Notifications’.
Now this is so that the iPhone can giveus a little notification to let us know when we are mirroring.
So I will click’Allow’ and ‘Allow’.
And once that’s done we are ready to select ‘Mirror Fire TV’.
So we press ‘Mirror Fire TV’ and ‘Start Broadcast’.
The phone will give us a little 3 2 1countdown, and then it will start making that connection.
Now the first time mighttake a few extra seconds, but once it’s done it’ll be super speedy because weinstalled the receiver app.
And there it is! That’s my phone screen on our Amazon Fire TV.
Now it’s worth noting that there is a little bit of what we call “latency”between the phone and things happening on the Amazon Fire TV.
It’s like 1 to 3seconds, which basically won’t stop you looking at photos or videos.
But what itdoes mean is that you won’t be able to do high-intensity gaming.
What can you do? Well, perhaps you want to look at some photos that you’vegot saved on your phone.
You want to show them on the big screen to the wholefamily.
Simply bring them up on your phone, turn your phone on its side, andthe same thing will happen there.
You can look at my lovely album, that’s when Iwent to San Francisco last year.
And that was Napa Valley.
This is becoming a very different video at this point.
Let’s get to the next thing.
Perhaps, you’re in a meeting or giving a presentation and you want to display a PowerPoint or somekind of slideshow.
We all know that projectors or beamers can be a bitfiddly and difficult and maybe you don’t even have one.
Thisis the perfect solution to that.
You simply open up the presentation on your phone, once again turn it on its side and we can see the whole thing in all itsglory on the big screen.
Ah, who doesn’t love to look at processedgear that big? And finally, of course you might want to look at videos be they stored on your phone or on the internet.
Well, we can absolutely do that.
If thevideos are stored on the Internet we recommend using Dolphin Mobilebrowser that will allow the sound to travel from the browser to your AmazonFire TV.
At the moment Safari and Chrome don’t support that feature.
So, we can open up Dolphin Browser and.
oh, look! There’s a YouTube video there.
I will hit ‘Play’ on there.
I will turn thesound down on my phone.
And I will turn it up on the TV.
Well, who’s this middle-aged man awkwardly rapping in a short film? And that’s how easy it is.
